My name is Rayyan and I am a current junior at MSJ. I have been playing percussion for 6 years. I am an experienced concert percussionist but also put a lot of focus on marching percussion as well (primarily marching snare/tenors). I also have experience playing drumset. I have always enjoyed playing my instrument and am always open to answer any questions relating to percussion.

I’m Yesun! I have over 7 years of experience playing saxophone. Though I focus on classical, I have intermediate experience in jazz. I’ve played in Northern California Honor Band for the past 3 years, and All State Honor band for one year. I have other music related experience as the section leader of the alto saxophone section as MSJHS. I personally love my instrument, and I’m always willing to help others learn!

Hi! I’m Tuheen Sen, currently a junior at Mission San Jose High School. I have been playing percussion for 6 years and piano for about a decade. I have a lot of experience with concert percussion, but have also played in marching, jazz, and fusion groups too. Music has always been a strong passion of mine, so I’m excited to help others on their musical adventures!

Hello, I’m Jeremy! I have been playing french horn for almost 8 years. I am a member of the Senior Orchestra in the California Youth Symphony, and last year I was a member of the Northern California Honor Band. I have a deep interest in french horn and classical music and I am always excited to share my passion with others!

Hi! I’m Tanmayee, and I play the saxophone and have been playing for six years. I primarily play the baritone saxophone, but I can also play alto and tenor saxophone and even a bit of bass clarinet. In my free time, I enjoy playing the sax and piano, playing sudoku and crossword, and hanging out with friends. If you ever want to ask questions about music theory or just chat in general, I’m always willing to listen!

Hello! I’m Owen Tsai, a freshman at Mission San Jose High and FMA’s bass clarinet teacher. I am in my 6th year of the school band program, playing clarinet and eventually switching to bass clarinet. I am currently playing bass clarinet for California Youth Symphony’s Wind Symphony, their top wind program. I have also played clarinet for the Class of ’27 Homecoming Airband, bass clarinet for the Jenny Lin Foundation’s band in the summers of ’22 and ’23, bass clarinet at CASMEC 2022, bass clarinet for the Hopkins Class of ’22 graduation symphony, and bass clarinet for HSO, a student-led symphony orchestra. In terms of teaching, I have taught the clarinet section of Tri-City Band Corps’ Hastati Regiment Beginning Band in the summer of ’22, and the clarinets of the Beginning Band and Advanced Band during the 22-23 school year.

I like playing music because it really keeps me entertained and it is very satisfying to finally perfect a piece or a song you have been working on for a long time. Another reason why I like music is that you can play some of your favorite songs on your instrument for fun.

Hi my name is Elka Lichman. I’ve been playing trumpet for a bit more than four years now and hope to teach others as well as improve my own skills in both teaching and playing. I’ve been in the school music program for two years, played trumpet for the Jenny Lin in the summer of 2023, and attended a music program created by my private teacher.

I’m a percussionist of 7 years and specialize in drum set and marching snare. In my free time I like to cook, practice, or go to the gym. As a math and music teacher in addition to being an FMA tutor, I enjoy teaching and hold in high regard the proper and well-paced development of students.
